I am so excited to share with you this beautifully intimate at-home lifestyle engagement session that I photographed for Victoria and Will. When we first started discussing their engagement session, I began the conversation by asking them about themselves and their relationship. I like to tailor engagement sessions to the couple specifically so it really represents their unique love story. They told me how they love to stay at home curled up under a blanket on the couch reading or playing music. Both Will and Victoria are extremely musical and are actually in a band together. After hearing more about how they like to spend their time, we decided an at-home lifestyle engagement session would be the perfect option for them.
I love how these engagements photos are not overly styled. Lindsey Zamora did an impeccable job on the styling. She wanted the aesthetic to be as real and authentic as possible; everything you see them doing (i.e. drinking coffee in bed, eating a nice brunch at the dining room table, playing music together on the couch) are routine activities for them in their home. I wanted to be more hands-off with this session to really capture genuine moments. One of my favorites of those moments was when Victoria reached toward Will and lightly grazed his neck with her fingertips. It is these natural, subtle gestures that are at the heart of everyday romance, and provide a window into the sweet, authentic connection of the couple. Victoria and Will have a really warm, gentle spirit to their relationship, and I think we were able to capture that with them doing what they love: simply being together. I love how it all turned out!
