Karissa & Jayson’s wedding day was nothing short of magical! They originally planned their wedding to all take place at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva Island, Florida, but then Hurricane Irma swept in just days before they were to tie the knot, leaving them no choice but to find an alternative location. I know just how stressful that situation can be for a bride and to say Karissa handled it with grace and patience is an understatement! The wedding was moved to Sundial Resort on Sanibel Island, and even though it wasn’t Karissa’s original vision, it was all executed perfectly and turned out to be the most beautiful day! Karissa’s getting ready location (the cutest little pink beach house) was found just a day or two before their wedding day and it truly seemed as if it was meant to be. It just goes to show that even if your wedding day plans are totally turned upside down, it’s still possible to make it all work!

I loved being a part of Karissa & Jayson’s story and being there to capture it all for them! I get so invested in my clients and they really do become friends; so much so that I’m usually tearing up behind the lens as my couples are saying their “I Do’s” or their family members are giving heartfelt speeches! It’s such a privilege to be invited into these intimate moments time and time again, and I love soaking up their story from beginning to end. Karissa & Jayson actually have one of my favorite stories of how they met, and it was so fun to hear it retold at their wedding! Karissa was working at a hair salon when Jayson first saw her. He was immediately taken by her, so he naturally went back for another hair cut the next week, in order to see her again. This went on for weeks until Karissa finally agreed to go out with him—and all of Jayson’s friends said his hair never looked better than during this time of getting 3 haircuts a week! I love this show of determination. I love that Jayson saw something in Karissa and fought for her. It was evident to all who came to their wedding that they are a perfect match and I’m so excited for them to begin this next chapter in their lives. A huge congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Boggess!
