I’m excited to finally highlight this beautiful Dallas wedding at The Milestone Mansion in Denton, Texas from this Spring! This wedding was special to me because the bride was actually one of my writers when I worked as an editor in the Dallas area years ago. It felt very special to come “full circle” and have one of my writers turn into one of my brides, and was a beautiful reminder that I made the best decision all those years ago when I left my office job to pursue my art!
I joked with Carissa a few days before her wedding because my weather app literally said “delightful” as the prediction for her big day, and it truly was! The entire wedding day was beautiful, everything went off without a hitch, and Carissa and Eric were the most gracious bride & groom. Their wedding took place at The Milestone Mansion in Denton, which is right in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. It’s a beautiful Southern-style mansion wedding venue that features a grand, sweeping staircase and crystal chandeliers. The couple chose lush white and pink flowers like roses and hydrangeas that exuded charm and elegance. The men wore navy suits and the bridesmaids also dressed in a soft blue. Other blue touches included the invitation suite, the table runners and light blue flowers peeking out of the bouquets which complemented the subtle coastal touches of the venue. The ceremony took place under a floral-adorned gazebo overlooking a pretty pond that made for a beautiful backdrop for Carissa and Eric to say their vows!
Since Eric has an 11-year-old daughter, we made sure to incorporate her into the photos as much as possible since this was more than just joining bride & groom; it really was joining two families together to become one! She was there to see her dad once he was ready and give him big hugs of encouragement, and she was also with Carissa during her getting ready process. Her reaction during Carissa’s big reveal to the bridesmaids says it all! In addition to the traditional bride & groom portraits, I also took some of all three of them so they’d have those special family photos forever.
I had so many favorite moments from this wedding, but one of the most notable had to be the couple’s grand fireworks exit! With 20-foot high sparks, Carissa and Eric certainly ended their night with a (literal) bang!

P.S. If you’ve been following along for a while, then some of the bridal party might look familiar to you! That’s because I photographed Carissa’s brother Craig & Bree’s wedding 7 years ago at Bridal Veil Falls in Austin, Texas! I absolutely LOVE photographing multiple wedding of the same family; it’s such a treat to be able to see the family members and other loved ones again. And of course I always love seeing my past brides & grooms! There were several moments during this wedding when I observed Craig and Bree having little moments together, and it made my romantic heart so happy. Like when their two adorable sons served as ring bearers during the ceremony and both of them looked at their children with such love in their eyes, or how all ceremony long I could see Bree and Craig making eyes at each other across the aisle, having a silent conversation and laughing with each other. Or seeing them hand in hand all night long and still partying it up on the dance floor 7 years later! It was such a treat to see them again and be welcomed in to another one of their family members’ wedding!
